HLPOA Marina Plan 4/27/2020 (Opening 5/2/2020)

Beginning on May 2nd we will have the Marina for boat launch. Restrictions to the accessibility are required during this current pandemic. Restrictions are listed below. The Marina is equipped with video and the following restrictions and rules will be enforced with fines to protect our employees. Please understand that we do not like having to put these restrictions in place any more than you do, but the health and safety of our employees is our foremost concern. Please read the general guidelines, our boating requirements, and the section that pertains to your marina usage.

Contact HLPOA office to schedule your boat launch time and date. (Read all guidelines for launching)

General Guidelines

Masks are required to be worn when launching or picking up your boat 8AM-6PM M-Sat. (for your own and our employee safety) Masks are recommended but not required outside of this time as employees will not be present.

  • There will be no permitted boat launching from HLPOA green areas during this time or ever! Fines will be issued.
  • 2020 Boat Stickers must be purchased from the lodge office before your boat will be launched.*Boat stickers can be purchased through the mail at the lodge. Or by calling Holly at the office and paying over the phone.
  • ALL parking will be across the road from the Marina, in the open HL lots. This includes people accessing marina docking and vehicles launching and removing on a daily basis.
  • The only Marina access areas for our members will be the ramp and the sidewalk to Marina Docks

    • All other areas of the Marina including port a pot (restroom) are completely off limits. Off limits are as will be clearly marked. Fines will be issued to people violating off limits areas as this is a safety measure for the employees of HLPOA.
    • Following all state guidelines is required by HLPOA

Boating guidelines

The beaches are closed until further notice under this quarantine, so there will be absolutely no parking of boats on the beaches during this time. This will be a strictly enforced rule as allowing access to our beaches for recreational purposes could not only put our members at risk at this time, but could open up legal liability for the association. We hope to be able to open the beaches as soon as the state mandated restrictions are eased. Boating recommendations: It is the recommendation of the Association, the ODNR, and our local county officials that all boaters practice the same social distancing on their watercraft that they practice in all other areas of their lives. This recommendation is that only members of your immediate family are on your watercraft, and that you do not raft boats together while boating. Holiday lakes does not have the power to enforce the rules on the water, but as it is a criminal offense per state law it could be enforced by state agencies. Access to any HLPOA owned dock is only allowed for the renter of the dock and those accompanying said renter, this also includes Marina Docks.

Self Launching boats

The marina will be closed to unscheduled self launching of boats until after 4 pm Monday through Saturday May 2nd to May 16,

  • You can schedule a time slot to self launch your boat on the Marina scheduling sheet by contacting the Holiday Lakes office. This is only if you would like to launch between 8am and 4pm M-Sat.

Self Launched boats stored at the Marina

Upon daily request, Tad will make available any boats for self launch and place them in an accessible location across the road from the Marina. We will have someone there from the time they are placed there until 6PM to ensure they are safe. (not stolen). The marina and ramp will be open after 4PM for unscheduled access. Only one boat launching is allowed in the Marina at a time, all others must stage in the lot across the road.

HLPOA Launching boats

Boats stored at the Marina will be launched by scheduling a time slot by calling the Holiday Lakes office. If you sign up to have your boat launched it will be placed in the water for pickup that day. If you would like to be there when your boat is launched you may wait at a designated dock. Or upon requests you may board your boat to launch after Tad has cleared you to board. You may pick up your boat after 6 if you do not wish to wear a mask.-

  • HOLIDAY LAKES WILL NOT BE STARTING OR WORKING ON ANY BOATS, they will be placed in the water and tied up at a Marina dock and will be your responsibility from that point.
  • If your boat is not ready for the water you will have to wait until you can get it ready (boats can be placed in a work area inside the marina for your work access upon request. )(Do not enter restricted area of marina)
  • If you schedule your boat for launch, it must be removed from the dock and taken to your personal dock that day. We will be cramped for dock space during this unusual launch so any boats scheduled and left overnight (not picked up by owner) will cause a problem. If your boat is still at the dock the next day after HLPOA launched it, it will be removed and you will be charged again to relaunch!

HLPOA launching boats (not stored at the Marina) (will not start until May 9th)

  • You will have to provide access to your boat.
  • You will have to provide your own transportation to the Marina (you will be unable to ride with HLPOA)
  • We request that you restrict your contact with your boats for at least 3 days prior to pickup.
  • We REQUIRE that you stay at least 15 feet from our employees during pickup.

Access to boats stored in Marina to work on them

(Beginning May 9th inside Marina as we need to launch boats to clear room, if you need access earlier than May 9th arrangements can be made to place your boat in the lot across the street from the Marina)

(Masks required 8am-6pm M-Sat.)

You will need to contact the office to request that your boat be placed in a designated location within the Marina for it to be accessed. Members will not be allowed in the sectioned off employee area of the Marina. If you enter the employee area (24hrs a day) you will be fined (this is for the safety of you and of our employees) We will gladly make your boat available to work on within 24-48 hours of request. You will be contacted when your boat is available.

Access to boats docked at Marina (Dock renters)

Boats docked at the marina will have permitted access only to the sidewalk area to get to your boat, the rest of the marina is strictly off limits and will be well marked, fines occur for entering the other areas, Marina rules are photo/video enforced. If entering the Marina to access boats while HLPOA employees are working at the facility, you may only access the docking area when HLPOA employees are on their side of the barrier (not actively launching a boat at the ramp). You must also proceed directly to your boat (no loitering).

Anyone having their boats launched or using rental docks (at green areas or marina)

You will need to sign our release and hold harmless agreement before your boat will be launched. This is both to ensure that you understand that you are unable to access any areas other than where your boat isdocked and to protect the association from harm if you use common facilities. Waivers available outside the office or at the Marina
