Holiday Lakes is located in Huron County which is 35 miles south of Sandusky. The lakes are a private development used by members, families and guests of lot owners. This subdivision consists of 1,348 residential lots.

The lot sizes are large enough to give privacy and sizes vary depending on the location and land contours. All of our lots are sold for residential purposes only. Accurate sizes for each lot are on a master plan.

Recreation

Our main lake is 221 acres, with a shoreline of approximately 12 miles. The average depth of the lake is 14 feet with some areas having depts of 34 feet. Our main lake is shaped like a dragon with 8 coves ranging in length of 400 feet to 1,300 feet.

Our dam is 45 feet high by 500 feet long. We also have a small separate lake called Big Bass Lake. It is very small and is typically used just to fish in. The size of Big Bass Lake is approximately 7 acres.

We have two separate beaches. The main beach is 500x140 feet and the small east beach is 200x100 feet. There are 27 green areas in Holiday Lakes and you will also find an island which is compromised of 17 lots and it is nearly 8 acres in size.

We also have newly established basketball, tennis and sand volleyball courts, all of which are located near the lodge. The lodge is private, and used by members, family and guests of lot owners. Building Permits and Regulations:

All housing plans, additions, etc. must be approved by Holiday Lakes code enforcer and or the architectural committee before any construction may begin. The association does not approve or allow the use of tents and or camping trailers on lots that do not 1st have a home built on it.

Building size requirements are as follows:

Lake front lots: Minimum size 900 sq feet. Offshore lots: Minimum size 750 sq feet

Holiday Lakes Property Owners Association

The HLPOA is an Ohio Home Owners Association that is incorporated. Our membership is approximately 580 strong. There is a one time $2,000.00 entrance/application fee to join.

Our membership dues are $600 per year. Our lot charges are $20.00 per lot, per year. These dues, and lot charges are due on March 1st of each year.

Our corporation is governed by five elected directors. Lot owners shall be members of the corporation per deed restriction #8.

Utilities

Our water supply is a central water system owned and operated by Northern Ohio Rural Water in Norwalk, Ohio. Tapping into the water provided by NORW costs approximately $2,500. 419-668-7213

Our Electricity is provided by Firelands Electric Cooperative, Inc out of New London, Ohio. Telephone service is provided by Verizon in Norwalk, Ohio.

Gas services are provided by Village Energy out of North Canton, Ohio. 888-863-0032 Choice programs are not offered.

Security and Fire Protection

Law enforcement is provided by the Huron County Sheriff's Department in Norwalk, Ohio. The Sheriff's department has a sub-station that is located in North Fairfield Ohio, which is approximately 7 miles east of Holiday Lakes.

Fire protection is provided to Holiday Lakes by the Willard Fire Department. Willard is located 4 miles south of Holiday Lakes.

The HLPOA accepts no responsibility for accidents that occur while on private property, in private vehicles or as a result of reckless or careless behavior.
